- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Intervention (EAPCI) for characterization of structural valve deterioration (SVD) and bioprosthetic valve failure (BVF). Topics discussed include use of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in treating patients with aortic stenosis, durability of surgical bioprostheses, and detection of valve dysfunction by use of imaging techniques such as two-dimensional echocardiography.
