- Abstract
A case study of hypereosinophilia with a low blast count as the initial manifestation of acute myeloid leukaemia is presented. A 35 year old woman was presented with a two week history of fatigue and reduced general health. Examinations indicated the presence of mild petechiae on the lower extremities and slight splenomegaly. The case illustrated that despite a low initial blast cell count, in the absence of chemotherapy t(8;21)/RUNX1-RUNX1T1-associated leukaemia shows early progression.
