- Abstract
The article discusses the correlation between the presence of Auer rods in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) blast cells at diagnosis and all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) differentiation efficacy. It states that the residual detection of Auer rods one month after the treatment of APL patient was a sign of maturing granulocytes under differentiation therapy. It notes that myeloperoxide (MPO) expression during ATRA treatment differs between patients with good and poor differentiation response.
