- Abstract
The article discusses the iridium (III) complexes and their applications in organic light emitting diodes, biosensors, and oxygen sensitizers. Topics discussed include preparation and structural characterization of new cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes with sulfur containing ancillary ligands, photoluminescent properties of Ir(ppy)2, and two major types of iridium(III) complexes which depends on the category of ligands bound to the Ir center which includes homoleptic Ir and heteroleptic Ir.
