- Abstract
The article provides information on a study on the rates of influenza vaccination among children with asthma, along with patterns of missed opportunities to vaccinate. The research examined administrative claims in the Michigan Medicaid program during the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 influenza seasons. Approximately 17% of 4,358 children between 5 and 18 years of age who had persistent asthma had an influenza vaccination during the 2001-2002 influenza season while 22% of children who had asthma had an influenza vaccination during the 2002-2003 influenza season.
