- Title
Endophenotypes, Heritability, and Underlying Complexity in Hypertension.
- Authors
Williams, Scott M.
- Abstract
In this article the author comments on a study regarding the frequency of heritability of plasma angiotensinogen (AGT) in a population of Europe descent from Utah. The author says that the standard analyses used in the study to examine the genetics of hypertension disregards the truth that several layers of protein and genetic regulation occur in the genotype-phenotype map. The author also notes that gender differences is useful in analyzing biological process.
