- Authors
Lockwood, Diana N. J.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the campaign for the elimination of leprosy. As established, leprosy is a disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae which affects skin and peripheral nerves. Despite the claimed that leprosy has already been phased out, she stated that many patients will still continue to present with leprosy. Further, although the campaign against the disease could mobilize people and resources, she said that its diagnosis and treatment is just being devolved to primary health care.
