- Abstract
Keywords: arteriovenous fistula; dehiscence; pulsatile tinnitus; resurfacing; sigmoid sinus; superior canal dehiscence; surgery All the patients described an increase of PT by WOT, which is a significantly frequent finding compared to the incidence (4%, 1 out of 26) of increased tinnitus by WOT in venous PT ( I P i < .001, Fisher's exact test). Previously, the success rates for resurfacing surgery for PT caused by sigmoid sinus dehiscence have been reported to range from 52% to 100%, suggesting that the dehiscent sigmoid itself might not be the sole cause of the PT in some cases.[[9]] It is desirable to minimise the extent of the surgical procedure, depending on the possible causes of the tinnitus.
