- Abstract
The article discusses a study which explores the patient characteristics, aetiological factors and risk factors of an atraumatic splenic rupture-related (ASR) mortality to aid disease classification and treatment. The study shows that the increased ASR-related mortality are associated with splenomegaly, advanced age and neoplastic disorders. It is noted that ASR is classified into atraumatic-idiopathic and atraumatic-pathological splenic rupture.
