1 a Initial lesion prior to laser treatment. b Significant wound healing 7 weeks following the first PDL treatment. c Near complete wound healing 7 weeks after the second treatment Use of PDL is established in the treatment of several cutaneous vascular lesions. It is unlikely that clinical trials will ever be possible with such rare conditions as RAE; therefore, our description of wound healing following PDL treatment adds to the body of evidence concerning the possible management of this challenging disease. Three successful cases of PDL use for the treatment of RAE have been previously described in the literature, although one patient developed recurrent lesions, one patient died 8 weeks after treatment, and the remaining patient's lesions appeared less severe than those in our case [[1], [4]].
