- Abstract
The University of Virginia School of Law recently hosted the 16th Annual Conference on Empirical Legal Studies (CELS), which brought together over 250 participants from the United States and other countries. The conference featured interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law, economics, psychology, political science, history, and sociology. The Journal of Empirical Legal Studies (JELS) has published a special issue featuring 10 papers from the conference, covering topics such as price transparency in healthcare, bias in the criminal justice system, and the impact of media on public legal opinion. The organizers believe that this research can contribute to the development of policies that promote human flourishing, prosperity, and justice.
