- Abstract
The article presents the results of findings on the relationship between dermatomyositis (DM) and cutaneous melanoma (CM) associated with underlying neoplasm of several organ systems, occurring mostly in women. A case report is discussed to illustrate treatment using methylprednisolone that led to the patient's clinical improvement, but continued to experience DM flares controlled by doses of oral corticosteriods. The rare DM and CM association, however, worsens recovery due to tumour relapse.
