- Title
Tracking Our Physical Inactivity and Progression to Death: Is This Evolutionary Stagnation?
- Authors
Alter, David A.
- Abstract
The author comments on the association between sedentary behavior and higher risk for death. He references a study which found a relationship between daily volume of sedentary behavior and all-cause mortality among U.S. adults aged 45 years or older. He also discusses hypotheses on the mechanisms by which sedentary behavior is related to adverse health outcomes.
