- Abstract
This section offers news briefs regarding innovations in the chemical industry. Cornell University scientists were able to control the metabolism and behavior of tobacco hornworm moths by implanting microfluidic devices into them. Swiss material scientists were able to develop a waterproof fabric by combining hydrophobic surface chemistry and needle-like nanostructures. An energy transducer developed by Fraunhofer Technology Development Group powers sensors via the fluid movement of liquids and gases.
