- Abstract
In this article, the authors discuss the implication of the study conducted by W. C. Lin and colleagues on the association between body mass index (BMI) and mortality among Chinese adults. They state that the findings in the study of Lin and colleagues show inconsistency in the pattern found in various studies on white population and tend to challenge the definition of obesity and overweight. They relate that several studies suggest that Chinese population should have lower optimal BMI values.
