- Abstract
Sulfuric acid leaching of calcareous shale in Allouga locality has been successfully performed with efficiency 86.84%. The produced solution has 144.3 mg U L-1 and 48.4 g Cl L-1. Systematic work on this type of ores is necessary to remove chloride firstly by washing with freshwater before leaching process to be suitable for U recovery on quaternary amine resins. Washing consumes a lot of water, producing unusable uranium waste solutions, loses 20-25% from leaching time. Commercial quaternary amine resin and synthesized amidoxime sorbents used for uranium recovery from produced leach liquor have capacities zero and 196.4 mg U g-1 respectively.
