- Abstract
NPPE is commonly encountered after upper airway obstruction with a large negative intrathoracic pressure generated by forced inspiration against an obstructed airway. It is crucial for the anesthesiologist suspect this condition if patients suffer from an event of airway obstruction on extubation.
