- Title
Do We Need a Second-Order Science?
- Authors
Notturno, Mark Amadeus
- Abstract
The author argues that there is no need for a new scientific method or a second-order science and that the application of scientific theories may affect the systems they describe. He comments on the position of U.S. cybernetician Stuart Umpleby on rethinking and expanding the philosophy of science. He also suggests that knowledge about the world should not be considered as scientific knowledge.
