- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 75-year-old woman with a history of nasal congestion, right facial pain, and headaches. Computed tomography of the sinuses showed complete opacification of the right maxillary sinuses. Surgical treatment of the patient's fungal sinusitis could have been done in the operating room, in the operating room or under local anesthesia in the outpatient department. Technology advances have facilitated a shift from the operating room to the office.
