- Abstract
This document summarizes a study on the use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome classification to determine the severity of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). The study found that TCM syndrome classification was able to detect differences in kidney function and quality of life among patients with DKD. However, it was less accurate in diagnosing moderate or severe DKD compared to conventional chronic kidney disease staging. The document also provides additional information on previous studies, the use of complementary and alternative medicine in Singapore, and the potential benefits of TCM in treating DKD.
