- Abstract
This article compares the effectiveness of ambroxol, betamethasone, and a combination of both in promoting fetal lung maturation and reducing neonatal complications in high-risk pregnancies and preterm births. The study involved 94 patients between 30 and 35 weeks of gestation, who were randomly assigned to one of the three treatment groups. The results showed that ambroxol and the combination of ambroxol and betamethasone were associated with better outcomes, including improved survival rates and reduced morbidity and hospital stay in the neonatal ICU. The study suggests that this therapeutic approach could be particularly beneficial in countries with limited healthcare resources and high costs.
