- Abstract
This consensus document addresses the reduction of the environmental impact of inhalers in Portugal. The study reveals that pMDI inhalers account for 0.84% of the total carbon emissions in the healthcare sector, while their economic weight is only 0.098%. Recommendations have been made to reduce the environmental impact of inhalers, such as the preference for DPI inhalers instead of pMDI and the implementation of strategies to encourage the return of used devices. The article discusses the need for parents to work together with primary care physicians in combating childhood obesity and overweight, highlighting the importance of an effective relationship between doctors, parents, and children.
