Der pädagogische Spielraum. Die Schauspielerin als Rollenmodell der Emanzipation.
- Authors
Ernst, Wolf-Dieter
- Abstract
The article deals with the role of actresses as role models for emancipation. An example of this is the acting school founded by Louise Dumont and Gustav Lindemann in Düsseldorf. The actresses saw education as a way to compensate for structural inequalities in casting and to serve as role models for the next generation. The article also examines the life reform movement around the turn of the century and the personal development of Louise Dumont, who had a successful theater career before dedicating herself to educational work. The Theater Academy Düsseldorf, founded by Dumont, positioned itself as an important educational initiative and contributed to the emancipation of actresses.
