- Authors
Downing, Elliot R.
- Abstract
The article discusses the role science has to play in general education. Science has discovered laws of nature. Application of these to the problems of living has helped in fighting many diseases. It has revolutionized manufacture, transportation and communication. It has freed man from superstitions and fears. Science instruction in a general education should lead man to such a comprehension of the frequently needed laws of nature as will enable him to apply them to his problems in life and better adjust himself to his constantly changing world.
