- Authors
Jones, Kay H.
- Abstract
The author offers a brief historical background of ozone air quality regulation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She considered the city as an indicator of the U.S. ozone regulation. Also noted is that Philadelphia had to reduce its ozone level by 57 percent to conform to the ozone standard. She cites that in 1997, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) moved the standard back from 131 part per billion (ppb) to 85 ppb as the ozone air quality in the city and the rest of the country was improving rapidly.
