Children killed in Nigeria blast.
- Abstract
The article reports on the oil pipeline explosion in Lagos, Nigeria. It states that 100 people, which many of them are children, have been killed in the explosion. The blast tore through Ijegun suburb, engrossing schools and homes after a bulldozer burst the pipeline. Official revealed that many died after being overcome by smoke and others were killed in a stampeded to escape. It also reveals that the county is the world's major oil producers and pipelines cut through many residential areas, both in cities and oil-producing areas and several of these have exploded when local people cut holes in them to steal oil.
