- Abstract
Aiming at the influence of signal attenuation on nugget diameter evaluation results in ultrasonic testing of resistance spot welding, a gain compensation method based on wavelet transform for different frequency subband signals is proposed in this paper. Each subband signal is compensated and reconstructed respectively, and the nugget diameter is calculated by the reconstructed signal. This method is used to compensate the spot welding test signal and simulation signal respectively. The nugget diameter is calculated by the compensation signal, and the calculated value is compared with the measured value of nugget diameter. The results show that the method can effectively reduce the calculation error of nugget diameter by compensating the gain of ultrasonic testing signal.
