- Abstract
The article describes the case of an 89-year-old male patient presented with pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation. Topics include an overview of the patient's past medical history, an examination of the level of seizure disorder drug phenytoin in the patient's body to ensure adequate therapy, and several characteristics that make phenytoin an appropriate candidate for therapeutic drug monitoring such as its being highly bound to serum albumin.
