- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates transcriptome sequencing for waterhemp and its implication to researches on herbicide target-site gene. The study uses the GS-FLX 454 pyrosequencing to conduct transcriptome sequencing, as well as determines sequence data for two other herbicide targets, such as glutamine synthetase, in waterhemp and other Amaranthus species. The study shows the importance of 454 sequencing in conducting polymorphism detection and gene discovery among weed species.
