Re: The effectiveness and safety of introducing condom-catheter uterine balloon tamponade for postpartum haemorrhage at secondary level hospitals in Uganda, Egypt and Senegal: a stepped wedge, cluster-randomised trial: Difficulty evaluating the efficacy of introducing the condom-catheter Intrauterine balloon catheters, even after intrauterine placement, tend to descend vaginally, referred to as "catheter/balloon prolapse", which causes haemostasis failure. This technique can also be used for PPH in general, depending on the situation.[4] Putting this aside, procedures to prevent catheter/balloon prolapse should have been employed.
