- Abstract
The latest issue of the Journal of the Ottoman & Turkish Studies Association (JOTSA) features a collection of five essays that were originally part of the 100 Years 100 Objects digital encyclopedia project. These essays offer an alternative narrative of the history of the Republic of Turkey by focusing on everyday objects. The issue also includes two articles on global histories of the Ottoman Empire in the nineteenth century, one addressing slavery and the other exploring the experiences of the first official Ottoman envoy to the United States. The issue concludes with book reviews and acknowledgments to the contributors and supporters of JOTSA.
