- Abstract
This paper describes the community participation process carried out for the recovery of a rural road and the later implementation in this space of an interpretive trail in the ejido El Fresnito, municipality of Zapotlán el Grande, Jalisco, Mexico. The process arose from an economic support of PET (temporary employment program) awarded by SEMARNATJalisco, which sought through the participation of the community to develop activities related to the attractive natural, historical, cultural and landscape of Nevado de Colima, through the conservation of the natural environment and the generation of economic options. For two years, in periods of three months each, 75 people participated in cleaning, the implementation and maintenance of the Sendero Los Tubos. This experience was systematized and analyzed using participatory action research, conducting interviews with participants and realizing audiovisual records.
