- Title
A DANGEROUS IDEA? MARTIN LUTHER, E. Y. MULLINS, AND THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS.
- Authors
ROGERS, MARK
- Abstract
The article discusses Martin Luther King, E.Y. Mullins and their contribution to Protestant ecclesiology and called the foundational doctrine of the universal priesthood also known as the priesthood of all believers. It states that it is wrong to claim that the "democratizing agenda" of Luther King was the cause of the democratic theology of twentieth century theologians such as Mullins. It also notes that American evangelical theology was influenced more by American democracy, modern subjectivism, and the Enlightenment than Luther's doctrine.
