- Abstract
The article cites a study on how the sixth and eighth grade students in small groups construct a shared understanding of earth science concepts by using scaffold understanding in the U.S. It explores the gestures of the students, used to discusses and analyzed in a substantial spatial visualization component. It highlights the scaffolding roles, the essential parts of speech, information not provided in speech, gestures were used in place of words not easily accessible and other group members adopted that gestures as a shared means of their communications.
