- Abstract
This article discusses a case study related to erythema-multiforme-like contact dermatitis due to capsicum. A 65-year-old woman developed an eruption on her right knee of erythematous plaques, vesicles and small bullae with numerous target-like lesions. Two days after topical application of a homemade, concentrated, alcoholic tincture of capsicum used for its antirheumatic properties, A biopsy showed spongiosis of the lower epidermis and lymphomononuclear perivascular infiltration of the superficial dermis.
