- Abstract
Idoxuridine (5-rodo-2'-desoxyaridine), a pyrimidine analogue, is a well-known topical antiviral agent used as ointment, eyedrops or solution for the treatment of herpetic infections. A 30-year-old woman, with a history of recurrent herpes simplex labialis was seen after 2 days of application of an ointment containing Idoxuridine 0.2% (Idustatiri), with an acute eczcmatous dermatitis of the lips and perioral region which spread to involve the cheeks. She was patch tested with the standard ICDRG series and results of the patch tests are given in the article.
