- Title
Two steps to space for numbers.
- Authors
Fischer, Martin H.; Shaki, Samuel
- Abstract
The authors propose a processing principle for spatial-numerical associations (SNAs), along with two successive steps by which the mapping of numbers onto space may occur. The proposed processing principle considers spatial mapping as a critical part of semantic number processing, which is evident from the ubiquity of SNAs. The range of observations related to the ubiquity of SNAs captured by the proposed two successive steps is noted.
