- Abstract
The article presents the guidelines of the British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) and British Health Professionals in Rheumatology (BHPR) for the use of anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) drugs in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Recommendations by the two organizations include avoiding initiating anti-TNF in the presence of serious active infections and considering prophylactic anti-mycobacterial therapy for patients with potential latent disease before commencing treatment with anti-TNF drugs.
