The article presents the text of the keynote address by Katherine J. Pinch, an associate professor in the Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration at California State University in Sacramento, delivered at the Symposium on Experiential Education Research (SEER) 2008 conference, in which she discussed the importance of evaluation research, the formation of the Council on Research and Evaluation (CORE) and the obstacles that must be overcome.
