- Abstract
The article reports the modulation effect of extracellular adenosine on GABA uptake by astrocytes using rat astrocyte culture cells. It further presents that regulation of GABA transporters through adenosine receptors is influenced by G-proteins contributing to neurotransmission. It also presents the dual role of adenosine heterotetramer receptors in controlling GABA levels at synapses.
