- Title
Diamond at the Diffraction Limit: Optical Characterization of Synthetic Diamond.
- Authors
Diggle, Phil L.; D'Haenens-Johansson, Ulrika F. S.; Wuyi Wang; Newton, Mark E.
- Abstract
The article discusses the synthesis techniques in identifying the optical characteristics of synthetic diamonds. The first technique involves the replication of the Earth's natural process in which the diamonds are grown in the laboratory at high temperature and pressure. The other technique depends on the dissociation of hydrogen and methane and the subsequent deposition of diamond from the gaseous phase at low pressures.
