- Abstract
This brings attention to two important topics such as the type of prosthesis choice and the lack of impact of an increased transvalvular gradient on short and midterm survival. These outcomes are expected as prosthesis models between the actual dimensions of the prosthesis and the labeled prosthesis size given by the sizers provided by the manufacturers are different. Postoperative and midterm mean transvalvular gradient was higher in the porcine valve while only the 31-mm valve showed a significant difference between the two valve types.
