- Abstract
The article focuses on the struggles being faced by European Central Bank (ECB) president Mario Draghi in dealing with the opposition of the German Constitutional Court on ECB's Outright Monetary Transaction (OMT) program. It says that the ruling was made when ECB caused revolt among German pensioner and savers by implementing zero interest rate policy. It adds that the judges from Karlsruhe, Germany are willing to make changes in the ECB's OMT program in compliance to the European banking law. INSET: Don't Try This at Home.
