- Abstract
The article studies the performance of a closed recirculation system for larviculture of red sea bream, Pagrus major. The system is composed of four major parts: rearing tanks; a reservoir tank; foam separation unit; and biofilter. Two rectangular fiberglass reinforced plastic tanks were used as rearing tanks. Water depth in these tanks was maintained at 0.85 meter and water volume of each tank was 4.5 cubic meter. Water from the rearing tank was discharged to a reservoir tank. The biofilter was set in a biofiltration tank. Water in the reservoir tank was passed through the biofilter and pumped into rearing tanks after filtration.
