- Abstract
The article discusses a study which characterized the epidemiology of human parvovirus 4 (PARV4) infection in South Africa. PARV4 DNA was detected via polymerase chain reaction (PCR), while CD4+ T-cell counts were determined via flow cytometry. Topics discussed include seroprevalence of immunoglobulin G against PARV4, link between age and PARV4 IgG serostatus, and the possibility of vertical transmission.
