- Title
Staying high and dry: a unique nesting strategy for an insular iguana.
- Authors
Knapp, Charles R
- Abstract
The article focuses on the nesting strategy of the Andros rock iguana subspecies found on one island in the Bahamas. It reports that female Andros iguanas use active termite mounds as incubation chamber and also mentions that temperature within the mound is warmer than air temperature which facilitate egg incubation. Also it reports that the nesting strategy of Andros reflects the effect of local climatic history and topography on embryo physiology and survival.
