- Abstract
Na6Ti5O12OH2 is the first structurally characterized sodium oxohydroxotitanate. The compound can be prepared viahydrothermal treatment of TiO2Anatas in NaOH 10n for 96h at 250° in an autoclave. The crystal structure of Na6Ti5O12OH2 consists of infinite ribbons $\rm{{_{\infty }^{1}}}$Ti5O12OH26−. The orthorhombic arrangement has PbcnNo. 60 symmetry with the lattice constants a=18.6684Å, b=6.533313Å, and c=9.8292Å.
