- Abstract
The article presents a study that assessed the results of laparoscopic surgery for rectal carcinoma (LRSC) during the learning curve throughout the introduction of this technique at a medical center. Forty patients undergoing surgery were assigned to laparoscopic surgery group (LSG) or conventional surgery group (CSG). There was no difference in the operative time among patients. Intraoperative complications is 10 percent in the LSG group compared to 15 percent in the CSG group.
