- Abstract
The article presents a study on the toxic effects of chlorine on the Hydropsyche pellucidulla's larvae. The study examines the effects of chlorinated waters on the larvae's life cycles by placing them into a maintenance aquarium with stones, dechlorinated tap water, and sand after chlorine testing. The study showsthat chlorine has damaged the larvae's tracheal gills it can serve as biological indicator for detection of chlorine pollution in the freshwater ecosystems.
