- Abstract
The article focuses on the cases of second cancers after retinoblastoma. It states that L. C. Strong and A. G. Knudson Jr. had predicted in 1973 that second cancers would occur at an increased rate in survivors of retinoblastoma. Accordingly, a report from the Late Effects Study Group reveals that retinoblastoma emerged as the most common primary cancer and the risk has already increased. Moreover, the reasons behind the increased risk of cancer in children due to retinoblastoma are presented.
